Kids in New Directions (KIND) was founded in 1987. KIND provides the Dayton community’s children, ages 4-17, with a safe place to participate and promote positive interactions through structured activities, field trips, tutoring, nutritious meals, guidance, mentoring and friendship.

Many of these children become trapped in their immediate neighborhood, not realizing the world that awaits them. The KIND program strives to improve literacy skills, instills self-esteem, and stimulates mental and emotional development.

In addition, they offer guidance and counseling for the children of the low-income families and in many cases single parent homes within their communities. Our After School Program offers assistance with school homework, art, and computer training. The kids also participate in interactive activities and conclude the day’s activities with a family-style nutritious meal. Our Summer programs offer nutritious meals, field trips, community outreach opportunities, swimming and physical activities all at no cost.

The KIND program strives to make sure that each and every child knows that they are cared about and provides a positive Christian influence in their lives.
